1. How does an org get on Razoo?
The database of nonprofits on our site includes 501(c)(3) organizations listed in the IRS Business Master File, except for private non-operating foundations. Your organization might be listed on Razoo because we periodically import public information from the IRS. If your nonprofit is not listed on Razoo and has 501(c)(3) status, you can send us documentation in order to be added to the Razoo database.
2. What is admin access?
If you’re an authorized representative of a nonprofit, you can request administrative access in order to edit content on the nonprofit’s page, update information, and manage donations.
Please note that you will first need to sign up for a user account on Razoo in order to obtain admin access. An organization can have multiple administrators, although it will be up to the organization to internally coordinate page edits, project page creation, and management of donation reports.
3. When/how does the org get the money?
Razoo batches donations each month and disburses the funds on or around the 10th of the following month. For example, if a donation were made on January 20 through Razoo, your nonprofit would be sent the funds on or around February 10. Disbursement checks are mailed to your address on file with Razoo unless your nonprofit has set up an electronic funds transfer (EFT).
4. Who can create a fundraiser?
Anyone can use Razoo to fundraise, as long as the nonprofit you want to support is listed in our database. It takes less than 2 minutes to create a fundraiser!
5. How can I share my fundraiser with potential supporters?
Razoo offers unique tools that allow you to easily share your fundraiser and integrate with social media. You can post your fundraiser on Facebook, Twitter, send emails, and use QR codes in printed materials.
We also have two options available for embedding a fundraising feature on your own website: a Donate Now button and our donation widget. The Donate button links a visitor from your website to your fundraising page on Razoo. The Donation Widget allows donors to make a contribution through Razoo’s secure platform while remaining on your website. No redirects! We also have a Facebook app that enables donors to give directly on your cause’s Facebook page.
6. Is there a fee for using Razoo?
Razoo has the lowest rate in the industry at 2.9% on all donations, the majority of which covers credit card and disbursement processing costs. There are no hidden charges, subscription fees, or setup costs.
7. Why does ‘Razoo Donations’ show up on my credit card statement?
All donations are received and receipted by Razoo Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) public charity that operates a donor advised fund. Razoo Foundation regrants 97.1% of a donor-advised contribution to the qualifying IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) advised by the donor, and retains 2.9% for Razoo Foundation’s expenses (including credit card transaction costs). That is why your credit card statement will list Razoo and not the name of the advised charity.
8. Can I create a recurring donation?
Yes, you can set-up regular contributions on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis. Simply choose your desired frequency in the drop-down menu on the donation form (the default is to make a one-time donation). Please note that you will be required to create a Razoo user account in order to make recurring donations.
9. What is a team?
A team page on Razoo unites multiple people who are fundraising for the same cause or event. Anyone can create a team page, which is a page that hosts all of the related fundraisers.
10. What are the benefits of using a team page?
The team page will provide with a leaderboard so you can track the team’s progress. Each member of the team has an individual fundraising page through which donors can give. Team pages are useful for fundraising for any race or charity event that involves multiple participants, like marathons, bike rides, and service trips.
